Attachment Parenting International offers these tools to help you celebrate AP Month in your community:

Steps to send and receive a proclamation:

  1. Determine what official you will send your proclamation request
  2. Contact that official’s office to learn the process and timing for submitting a proclamation request.  Some may accept the request by email, others by fax, still others may require postal mail submissions.
  3. Download and complete the above proclamation and proclamation request letter.  Include your “needed by” date to be in advance of October.
  4. Submit the proclamation sample and request.
  5. Follow up to make sure it was received and again check the process and timing.
  6. Follow up in a few weeks if you have not been contacted about an approval and issue date.
  7. Notify us at development@attachmentparenting.org when you submit your request and if you are approved.
