October 30 – A toast to your health

October 30, 2010

Welcome to AP Month!

Toast pumpkin seeds for a yummy treat.  Rinse seeds under cold water to separate from strings.  Toss seeds with a spoonful of oil.  Spread seeds across cookie sheet and sprinkle with salt.  Bake at 250 degrees F for 90 minutes to dry, and then raise heat to 350 degrees F to toast.  They’re done when lightly brown.

Consider using such yummy, nutritious snacks as your Halloween treats.

Roasted pumpkin seeds for the first time ever yesterday! YUMMY. I have two more pie pumpkins to cut open. I can’t wait to roast them!

I also took the pumpkin puree and added it to plain yogurt for a yummy snack.
